Kimagro is a family run business based in Limassol,  Cyprus. Kimagro was founded by Tony Kimonides and since 1991 has produced Seabass and Seabream in a sustainable manner with respect to the environment.


 
  
Antonis Kimonides

Antonis Kimonides was born and raised in Limassol, Cyprus where the Mediterranean Sea continues to play an intricate role in the lives of the local people both in terms of food, work (tourism) and leisure.

Antonis passion for the sea continued as he grew up and it eventually led him to study Marine Biology in Marseille, France where he specialised in Marine Aquaculture.

After successfully obtaining a Masters in Oceanography, he proceeded with his career and consequently obtained an immeasurable level of professional work experience as follows:

1983 - 1987 Expert for the UN Food & Agriculture Organisation
1987 - 1988 Consultant in Marine Fish Farming for several companies that are situated in Athens – Greece
1988 - 1993 Manager of Sagro Aquaculture Ltd, located in Paphos – Cyprus
1991 Kimagro Founder

Antonis is married to Sandrine Kimonides and they have four children. When he’s not at Kimagro Fishfarm, Antonis enjoys spending time with his family and cultivating his olive groves at home, overlooking the very picturesque Cypriot village of Lania heading up towards the mountains.


   
Sandrine Kimonides is Tony Kimonides wife since 1986. She moved to Cyprus in 1988 from France where she studied as a Sous Chef in Dijon. Sandrine is actively involved in Kimagro and is the HACCP coordinator of the company as well as the Packing House Manager.




    Stavros Stavrinou has been working  in Kimagro since 1998. He is the Sales and Distribution Manager at Kimagro and a core member of the team. Stavros says he is qualified in ‘The School of Life and professional experience’ . His wife Lenia also works at Kimagro as an Administrative assistant.
    Fitos Ioannou is the financial controller at Kimagro. He has a BA Honours  in accounting and Finance ACA. He has worked in Kimagro since 2000 and is in charge of all financial matters.
    Marios Paridis is the operations manager at Kimagro and is the oldest employee of the company since 1990 when the company became active. He controls the vessels and the harvesting activities and all structural marine activities of the company. He started working at the company when Tony Kimonides formed it and has been a core member since. His son also now works at Kimagro.
    Guilloume Gilbert is a Marine Biologist and is the Animal Husbandry and Feeding Manager at Kimagro. He has been at the company since 2006 and is responsible with fish husbandry practices including fry stocking and feeding.


    Antonis Petrou is a Marine Biologist and Marine Environment Impact Specialist at Kimagro. Has been in charge of environmental monitoring studies at Kimagro since 2003.

Antonis vision of producing the highest quality fresh fish in the Mediterranean is evident at Kimagro Fishfarming Public Ltd – the Company he founded in 1989 and with the creation of his unique Platform structure purposely built for aquaculture, ie. facilitating good husbandry practices and an automatic feeding system.

In addition, Antonis puts his customers’ needs first when it comes to their individual requirements and this has resulted in the Company’s growth into successfully exporting fresh fish currently across Europe, Russia and around the Mediterranean.
