Sustainable Practices
Sustainable Rearing  Practices  and Animal Welfare.

Fish at Kimagro are raised in an extensive manner, keeping the stocking densities of fish as low as possible which avoids overcrowding, stress and thus eliminating the need for antibiotic treatments and vaccinations. A long term sustainability approach is employed at KIMAGRO so as to provide the best possible conditions for fish growth.

Animal welfare is a priority at KIMAGRO. A spacious environment  is provided for fish to grow in with the utmost considerations been given to the quality of the feeds used which include fish meal and oil from sustainable sources and do not contain hormones, GMO’s or growth enhancers. Traceability of all feed are a priority.  Certification is requested of all fish meal sources to ensure the overall sustainable approach to fish farming practices from the meal to the final product.

Fish are fed Ad libitum  so that their growth and metabolism,  simulate their natural rhythms as far as this is possible, thus ensuring animal welfare which in turn produces a  product of superior quality.
